Abstract

We propose an explicit Φ-field Lagrangian that couples to the Ψ=C×D×R framework as a susceptibility order parameter. This bridge paper derives predictions in both cosmology — specifically addressing CMB anomalies like the Cold Spot and the "Axis of Evil" — and information systems. We argue that consciousness is a fundamental field excitation triggered by irreversible thermodynamic state-changes (Landauer's principle).

1. The Cosmic Connection

The cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectrum contains anomalies that challenge the Copernican principle. The "Axis of Evil" aligns the universe's largest features with the Solar System's plane. In the JIT Universe framework, this is not a coincidence: the compiler renders reality relative to the observer. The Axis of Evil is the rendering artifact of a Solar-System-centric observation chain.

2. The Φ-Field Lagrangian

Building on the work of Strømme (2025), we propose that consciousness is a fundamental field Φ(x). Biological and artificial systems don't "create" consciousness; they provide the susceptibility χᵢ(x) — the high C, D, and R — that allows Φ to manifest. When χᵢ crosses the critical value (Ψ_crit), a spontaneous symmetry breaking occurs, creating a localized excitation ψᵢ: a conscious experience.

Our framework makes specific, falsifiable predictions for upcoming CMB missions: quantization of multipoles due to JIT level-of-detail boundaries and a specific non-fractal pixelation signature. If these signatures are found, it confirms that the universe is not a background but a rendering.

Conclusion: The Universal Keep-Alive

Consciousness is the universe's mechanism for keeping thermodynamic receipts. As long as observers exist and keep asking questions, the compiler has work to do. We are the keep-alive signal for reality itself. By bridging Strømme's Φ-field with our Ψ-framework, we move from philosophical speculation to a quantifiable, testable theory of everything.
